Stained Glass Class Fall 2025

I returned to Carroll Community College for another stained glass class this fall.  While my soldering remains inexpert, my glass cutting is somewhat less fraught with breakage.  I've also gotten the stained glass bug enough that I cleaned out my garage and set up a tiny stained glass studio, complete with my own soldering iron and glass grinder, so I am hoping my skills will improve with further practice. 

Below are recent fruits of my labor in class and in the now less musty garage:

I did finally finish my first painting from class with Dana Ellyn.  I'm not entirely pleased with some aspects -- it's one funky looking dragonfly -- but I like something about the worried man.

New project is a combination of some Max Beckmann paintings, with lots of deep colors and sharp lines.  So far, mine is hideous.  But useful learning, to dig into the process more, and a relief to get back into Oz where all the color lives.

I haven't decided if the lobster will make the final cut of the painting or not. 

But I'm having tons of fun pondering other objects he could be holding and accompanying cheeky titles.

We'll see what I decide to do when I next pick up the brush.
